Kings’ School in Winchester wins UK Career Development Award

Congratulations to Kings’ School, Winchester on winning the award for ‘Best Practice in Delivering Career Development Services’ at the UK Career Development Awards in Glasgow. Kings’ was described as having developed a unique model for the delivery of Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance that is innovative, inclusive and inspirational.

At a time when many schools have reduced their Careers Education, Kings’ has enhanced its provision and devised an innovative programme of careers activities to ensure all its pupils are fully prepared for the world beyond school. Its programme is delivered as an integral part of its unique Business, Enterprise and Employability (BEE) Initiative. The separate strands of BEE, Careers Education, Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education and independent thinking skills have been brought together in a single programme which is all-inclusive and embedded across the curriculum. It is further enhanced by providing: impartial careers advice, a bespoke Kings’ careers website, real work experience and its own Business and Enterprise Times.

We are delighted for Kings’ School, where Bill Brown, Chairman of The Education Partnership, has been a Governor for over twenty years. This award is testament to their work to go above and beyond in the service of their pupils’ education and futures.
